Mike Del Vecchio Library & Archive
Tri-State Railway Historical Society announced on February 1, 2024, that it is working to establish the Mike Del Vecchio Library & Archive, on historic Main Street in downtown Boonton, NJ. Since that time, dedicated volunteers have worked diligently to sort, organize, and catalog a substantial collection of railroad photographs, books, documents, and artifacts, primarily representing the rich railroading heritage of New Jersey, as well as neighboring regions of New York and Pennsylvania.
The archive’s primary mission is to create a permanent repository for materials significant to the rail history of New Jersey and its constituent railroads. Tri-State intends for the Library & Archive to serve as a publicly accessible working space where researchers, historians, and enthusiasts can study and explore these important collections.
The archive is named in honor of Mike Del Vecchio (1960–2023), past President of the Tri-State Railway Historical Society, whose generous donation of his extensive personal collection provided the foundation and inspiration for its creation.
