Super-Duper Work Session & BBQ

  • Tri-State Restoration Yard 104 Morris Avenue Boonton, NJ, 07005 United States (map)

On Saturday, July 2nd, we will be having a work day at Boonton Yard to continue on the exterior restoration of Erie caboose C330. If you have yet to come get your hands dirty with us, this will be a good day to start! No skills or experience are required... just motivation!

Our plan is to begin at 9:00 AM and continue with removing and sanding paint on the exterior, among other tasks. We will all break in the afternoon so we can all enjoy lunch (burgers and hot dogs) together at the yard.

As always, long pants, protective footwear, gloves, and safety glasses are required, and please bring whatever other protective gear you think will help you work safely! If you would like to come, but don't have access to any of these items, please let me know and we can help you out.

With a good-sized crew, we can look forward to making huge progress! Whether you can come all day or just part of a day, a pair of willing hands is a huge help to us. Please let Kevin Phalon know via email at Kevin@TriStateRail.org if you are coming!

TOOLS WANTED!

While we luckily have many of the tools that were used to restore our other three cabooses, we are always in need of specific tools. The following are things we know we could use:

  • A 6, 8, or 10-foot A-frame ladder
  • Hand tools (wrenches, sockets, etc.)
  • Generator
  • Air compressor

If you have anything else you might be interested in donating, please shoot Kevin an email (Kevin@TriStateRail.org) and we can let you know if we can make good use of them. (Also, big thanks to Dave Lindstrom for donating and dropping off two extension ladders to us!)

Looking forward to seeing you at the yard!
